Swim Faster

Perhaps you're already confident in your technique. You're a regular swimmer, but your routine is getting stale, and you think an outside perspective could be helpful to shake things up.
Or maybe you used to swim regularly, maybe even competitively, but it's been a long time. A reeeally long time. Now you want to get back into it, but you're feeling a little lost.
Solution: Kick My Butt!

Whether you're looking for a structured plan to follow on your own, an overall stroke tuneup, or just some new workout ideas, this set of 3 coached sessions will leave you feeling inspired and energized.
Investment: $255* for 3 private coaching sessions. Each session includes 45 minutes of pool time and is followed by a written action plan with a summary of key points and custom practice recommendations.
*Please note that facility admission fees are not included in these prices. If you have a membership to the pool, you can scan your card for entry. If you do not have a membership, you can pay the drop-in rate or purchase a multi-admission pass (this typically works out to $8-$13 per person, per visit).
Effective turns make a big difference to your speed in the pool (and can also help with your endurance). However, many people struggle with flip turns, or have learned outdated techniques.
Solution: Tune Up My Turn
We'll build your flip turn from scratch with a series of fun exercises and thoughtful progressions, or take apart your existing turn and rebuild it better.
Investment: $100* for 45 minutes of pool time and a written summary of key points and progressions to practice.
*Please note that facility admission fees are not included.
Maybe your issue is not with flip turns. You need to nail your breaststroke pullout or finally master eggbeater in order to meet your goals.
Solution: Fix My Stroke
Let's get specific. Tell me what you want to work on, and I'll come prepared to assess your stroke (or a specific skill, such as eggbeater or sculling) and take you through a set of drill progressions to increase your proficiency.
Investment: $75* for 30 minutes of pool time and a written summary of key points and drills.
*Please note that facility admission fees are not included.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are you located?+
At this time, I operate out of five City of Edmonton facilities: Kinsmen, Peter Hemingway, Commonwealth, Eastglen, and Grand Trunk. You can use this custom map to see which one is closest to you.
What days and times are available for coaching sessions?+
I aim to book sessions on weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm. This is when pools are the quietest and have the most space available. I find booking during these times makes for a much more pleasant learning experience. Of course, this works best for people who have some flexibility in their work schedules. If you work from 8-5 every day, I might not be the best fit for you.
Are you a certified swim coach/instructor?+
Yes, I hold multiple certifications through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and am a member of Swim Alberta, Swimming Canada, and the Canadian Swim Coaches Association. I also have current standard first aid and CPR certification. I'm happy to provide proof of any of these certifications upon request.
